South Pole is seeking an experienced executive to provide strong leadership and a focus on accelerating delivery working closely with and being part of the Executive Committee of South Pole. This is a pivotal role ensuring the organization meets its short-term and long-term objectives and will create sustainable growth, by balancing entrepreneurship with a focus on structure and stability. The Chief of Staff will report directly to the CEO, responsibilities include:
- Evaluate company performance and recommend short and/or long term interventions to improve results
- Program manage the portfolio of change projects across the business/CoS, follow up the status, identify needed linkages, identify issues to be addressed, suggest new initiatives, and lead key projects
- Enable a structure that empowers the executive team (Exco) to be thriving and be fully accountable for their responsible areas’ success
- Manage and report on OKRs to the executive team and the board
- Align and collaborate with all Exco members to focus on and accelerate the execution of our growth path
- (Re)design and promote an efficient and effective Way of Working, embedded in our processes and frameworks as part of our culture
- Prepare & do (ad hoc) research on strategic opportunities and (possibly) participate in expansion activities
- Align governance and accountability across the organization in line with the strategy
- Be an independent sparring partner for the CEO, incl. review of the business and development of strategic opportunities
Requirements:
Profile requirements -
- Proven experience as Chief of Staff or equivalent executive role, preferable in a corporate environment
- Experienced in (re)structuring large companies/corporates
- In-depth understanding of the workings of different departments of an international operating company
- Knowledge of financial analysis, data analysis, performance/operation metrics next to OKRs and forms of agile and/or lean approaches
- Demonstrable skills in translating strategy to delivery, business development and digital transformation
- Excellent interpersonal skills to be effective in stakeholder management
- Aptitude in problem-solving and decision-making
- Outstanding written and oral (English) communication skills
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or industry-relevant equivalent
